For Release October 29, 2010 HAWAYA RACING YEAR END UPDATE Millers Creek, North Carolina HAWAYA RACING BUILT, DERRINGER POWERED P/D’s FINISH 1-2-3 IN AHDRA. In one of the closest point battles in the AHDRA Pro Dragster class in years, Rocky Jackson, Bill Purvis & Mike Nolen went into Rockingham within 45 points of each other. To make it even better, all three advanced in the first round. In the end, Purvis and Jackson faced off against each other in the finals. Rocky had the valuable “lane choice” and put Bill in the sunny lane. Rocky came out on top in a great final and took the championship. For the 2010 season, Hawaya Racing made two commitments. First, to sponsor the Pro Dragster class for 2010. Second, to build five (5) new ground up P/D bikes in an effort to help keep the cost of our sport down. We are proud to say that we feel that we have lived up to those commitments. We now have new turn-key P/D bikes on the showroom floor for sale. For $39,000.00 you can buy one today and race tomorrow. BACK TO THE FUTURE: For the 2011 season, Hawaya Racing is again making two commitments. First, to again sponsor the Pro Dragster class in the AHDRA for 2011. Second, to build four (4) new Pro Fuel bikes, keeping the same goal we had with the Pro Dragsters. These new P/F bikes will have a totally new design. We are working with John Storace of Weekend Frame now, designing the new chassis. These new P/F bikes will have many new and innovative features. This will include our new Derringer “CL” engine that is specifically designed for the 150 cubic inch P/F class. Jerry Gordon , co-designer of the Derringer engine, is putting the new engine on CAD at the present time. This new engine will be a direct bolt in replacement for the Overkill and PRP style engines. Many parts will interchange, including the cranks, rods, and cams. Hawaya Racing would like to congratulate Rocky Jackson, AHDRA 2010 P/D champion, Bill Purvis, AHDRA P/D #2, and Mike Nolen, AHDRA P/D #3 on a job well done.
