Nolens entire 2008 season has been devoted to the nitro category while continuing development of the Blackmer Construction, Mechanical Pipe & Supply sponsored Pro Fuel/Pro Dragster.  The 2008 season closed with an AMRA National Championship in the Pro Fuel Class, the #1 spot in the AMRA Region 2 Division, AHDRA 7th place in National Points Pro Dragster class and a 5th place finish in the AHDRA Eastern Region Points.

After the first few months of the season showing promising runs, Nolen and Vickers were confident that the remainder would continue to display outstanding results.  The season brings Nolen a total of 33 records and 8 National Championships to his racing career credits.

As the season ended Nolen stated, “ We had 94 rounds of qualifying and elimination runs, plus 14 test and tune passes with zero parts failure and an average ET of 7.59.  That’s a total of 108 passes for the year on the Derringer Engine.  Our hopes for this season were definitely high and the hard work and determination of everyone involved with this race team really came together.  I know I am excited to be a part of it.  I’ve got to thank my wife Sarah, Paul McGhee and Johnny Vickers for making this team a success”.

The Cycle Barn Racing team is now testing a new engine combination for the 2009 season.  The Pro Fuel/Pro Dragster has already made six test passes with this new combination in preparation for the 2009 season.  Nolen and Vickers/Hawaya Racing Inc. are anticipating another record season for next year.
