Hawaya Racing also performs performance upgrades on Street Harleys, Top Fuel, Pro Fuel, and Pro Dragster bikes. VICKERS SET NEW ET RECORD

VICKERS SETS 1/8th MILE ET RECORD IN LOUISIANA Hawaya Racing’s president and owner, Johnny Vickers, set a new AHDRA 1/8th National ET record this past weekend at No Problem Raceway in Louisiana. Riding the Derringer powered Nitro School Bike #1, Greatest Generation bike; Vickers reset the 1/8th mile ET record previously owned by Scott Truett with a 4.525 run in the second round of eliminations. “I had been working on a few tune-up things on my bike before Bristol. Once I qualified on the pole there, I new I was going in the right direction. The Derringer was making a lot of power and was running really hard to half track, but I had problems spinning the tire. I put a new Mickey Thompson on for the Louisiana race and with a few other tweaks in the tune, I was there, says Johnny. The bike that set the record is the #1 school bike! I think that says a lot about our program right now. Both the school bikes are leased for the Rockingham event, so I will not be riding that bike, but I do plan on making some passes on the bike I built for Joe Timmons a year or so ago. We have done some up grades to it here in the shop and we want to get a good number on it. This bike is for sale and is ready to go now.” . On the fall Nitro Bike School, everything is looking great. We have a great class of 9 riders including our first 2 female riders and 9 crew member/chiefs. This should be a very exciting class. VP Racing Fuels the “Official Fuels of the Nitro Bike School, Vanson Leathers the “Official Leathers”, Mickey Thompson Tires the “Official Tire” and the “Official Tow Bike “ by Rich Vreeland of Vreeland’s Harley Davidson will all be back on board for the school.. Brian Williams of “Raw Edge Photography” will again be the official photographer. We have set the 2012 Nitro Bike School dates for the spring class on April 25th 26th & 27th and the fall class on 10th ,11th &12th based on 6 to 8 riders per session. .
